”Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.” (Matthew 5:38-39 KJV)"An eye for an eye only makes the whole world blind" said Mahatma Gandhi. He was voicing the words of Jesus whom he said is the greatest teacher ever. Here are the nuggets to know the truth from this statement.1. 'Eye for an eye' is a weak man’s identity: There is a natural reaction every human being possesses in them for anything that happens to them. When a slap yields a counter slap, you are saying, "I am just another human being" but when you show the other cheek, you are saying, "I am a man of conviction." It takes conviction of higher understanding to show the other cheek.2. 'Tooth for a tooth' is the sign post of a vulnerable man: It’s one thing to be weak and entirely another thing to be vulnerable. A vulnerable person gives the control of his life into the hands of circumstances he faces but a man of faith possesses the power over his circumstances.Who are you today? A weak and vulnerable person or someone who stands in his convictions.Wisdom quote: Retaliation reflects our poor conviction.Prayer point: Father, fill me with the conviction of heaven in Jesus name. Amen.
